Support for the University of Akron

On July 15, the University of Akron Board of Trustees, at the recommendation of President Gary Miller, terminated the employment of 97 full-time faculty members. When factoring in retirements, this results in the loss of over 100 faculty. UA-AAUP is asking for support from fellow faculty, students, alumni, the community, and others in contacting the trustees and president and telling them they must rescind this decision and work with faculty to develop a more equitable and sustainable plan that prioritizes education.
